After a few changes mid week, with bodies rested and a couple of last minute changes meaning that changes to the lineup were made. The strength in depth of the squad really shows when we are able to replace like for like players at an instant and with parents so willing to enable their boys to play. It was great to get the match underway in near perfect conditions and in a fashion only the coaches can dream of.

We communicate the importance of starting well and starting quickly, and the boys certainly did that, with two great team tries showing the importance of ball possession and perseverance.

What has been interesting of late on the pitch is that of how much the boys communicate throughout a match, and how that communication can influence their play, whether this be through the forwards or from the back line they are always chatting, talking, giving pep talks. This all helps with their game management and development and this was clear to see today.

With everything that’s being worked on at training starting to come to fruition it’s great for us as coaches to see as they take it onboard. With tip/point/boot, noodle and kfc on show with our further tries it’s lovely to hear the different comments from our parents as they see them put into practice.

A fantastic show of team rugby today with a great show of skill from each and everyone of them.
