BARUFC U15’s vs Sunderland 10/11/24

Jacqui Teasdale19 Nov - 17:02

Too little too late!

Today our U15’s travelled to Sunderland where we were to take on a team we hadn’t faced off against in over 18 months, with high expectations after our latest game vs Middlesbrough. The morning started off with great respect shown to our service men and women with a moments silence, with both teams stood in unity.

After the whistle blew, the boys went to battle, some early exchanges saw Sunderland take the lead, but the lads stayed in touch with some valiant work done on our goal line.

At the half time call, it was Sunderland who lead the game with some great individual work from their full back slicing through our defensive line to take them to a 14 point lead, it was up to the team to work a way into the match and find the next level.

The second half kicked off and Bishop were on the front foot with some heavy hits being given and taken and some casualties to go with it. Some great movement saw the team venture over the try line and score a well deserved try, followed closely by a forwards pick and go move which again rewarded by a try with Sunderland defence choosing wisely to move out of their way.

The team worked tirelessly for the latter part of the match but unfortunately it wasn’t enough and showed to be too little too late as when the rallying cry came and a consolation try scored, it was too late to make a difference to the score line.

Thanks to all our supporters, parents and grandparents for their full support.
