Bishop Under 9’s welcomed a well prepared Blaydon to West Mills and showed that bigger doesn't always mean better. After splitting the team off, this allowed two lots of great rugby to be played.
The game involving Iwan, Harper, Hope, Jaxen, Jenny and Sonny started off by Bishop conceding a few tries but they found their flow after sorting their passing and positioning. Following this the scoring started for Bishop with Jaxen ,Sonny and Iwan leading the charge and keeping the team going forward.
In the other game involving Aiden, Alfie, Cassian, Dakota, Finley and Thor, Blaydon started strong but Bishop showed their bite was just as big as their bark. While up against bigger and faster players, Bishop did not give Blaydon any time to rest and took the game to them managing to get the first few tries in with Cassian and Dakota spearheading the attack while Aiden ran at any Blaydon player holding the ball to get that tackle.
Both games were hard fought and as tiredness started to set in it was evident that the dogged determination of Bishop was there.
Players of the week:
Cassian in his first match in a Bishop shirt, Dakota, Iwan and Jaxen.
Special mention to all the team this week for their hard work and grit!
