It was a cold and early start for the U9's on Sunday, away to Blaydon. To keep everyone warm we split into two teams of six and played two games a piece.

This was the toughest challenge our team has faced so far in their rugby careers. Blaydon were well drilled and showed superb confidence in the contact area, which allowed them to take the upperhand for most of the match. It's fair to say we were like a rabbit in the headlights at the start of the games! However, even though it wasn't our best start there were many positives to take away.

Heads could have gone down, but the players rallied and by the sessions were putting together some great team tries with our strong and powerful runners drawing in defenders to create space for our faster players to run into out wide. Special mention to Ashton and Matty who lead by example with some brave tackles and good physical runs.

It was a hard day's rugby, but played in the TREDS spirit. Well done to all the players for giving their best and to Blaydon for being great hosts.
