On a crisp Saturday morning, Bishop Auckland Under 9’s took on Houghton in a thrilling match full of energy, skill, and determination.
Welcoming some new players in to the fold, the young Bishop players showed great teamwork throughout.
The match kicked off with both teams looking strong, but it was Bishop Auckland who took control early on. Aiden’s quick thinking and agility made him a constant threat, breaking through Houghton's defense with ease.
His powerful runs and smart passes created plenty of opportunities for his teammates, and it wasn’t long before Bishop started scoring.
Theo wasn’t far behind, proving to be just as instrumental in the attack. His speed and ball handling were exceptional, often dodging tackles and finding space in the opposition’s defense. After taking a couple of big hits, his determination to play on was evident as he was involved in several well-executed moves.
One can be forgiven mistaken for thinking that Theo had been playing for Bishop since the BLT's, however, assurances can be given that this was his first ever game, such was his performance.
Houghton didn’t go down without a fight, and they were able to pull a few tries back thanks to their strong, hard-running forwards. However, Bishop Auckland's defense, led by Dakota, Sonny, Jaxon and Thor, stood firm.
